September 17th is Constitution Day

On this day in 1787, the Constitution of the United States of America was signed by 39 of America's founding fathers. The Constitution is not only the key legal framework that governs the operation of nation, it is one of the most important documents ever written by man. It is the supreme law of the land, and along with its many amendments, also the guarantor of our most essential civil liberties.

Originally known as Citizenship Day, Constitution Day became a federal holiday in 2004.
