Hurricane Ike's Tremendous Toll
This slideshow illustrates the full impact of this brutal storm on the Texas gulf coastal area. Here's hoping we can get these folks back on their feet better than we did with Katrina.

Ike.. Yikes

Hurricane Ike is poised to make landfall on the eastern coast of Texas tomorrow morning. The good news is that the storm has experienced some shear that is slowing the strengthening that the NHC had called for yesterday. The bad news is that the storm is so geographically huge that a large area will be impacted by hurricane-force winds. Still, huge and moderately strong is better than huge and severely strong.
Stay safe, everyone out there on the Gulf Coast.
