The US Dollar's Collapse -- "In Context"

In my post Another Vote of No Confidence from the World, I showed how the US dollar had tanked over the prior week, showing what international investors thought of how we were handling our affairs. A reader took me to task for this, claiming that I should have shown the move in greater context.

Well, the point was the reaction to the financial crisis, but fine. Here's what the US dollar index has done during the Bush presidency:



I think that should be sufficient "context" for anyone with even an ounce of objectivity.
