Three Flippin' Weeks!

It's now been three full weeks since John McCain picked Sarah Palin as his running mate, and she still has yet to give a press conference or appear on any show where she will be asked tough, unscripted questions.

The McCain campaign continues to show its utter contempt and disrespect for the American people. This whole Palin thing is starting to resemble something out of "1984".

I don't think it is contempt. I think McCain and his handlers know that his temper would not allow him to be challenged in a real press conference, so they want a narrative of good news and results before they stage one. Palin -- well, it could be insufficient deference, but more likely McCain is discovering along with us that he's got a disaster on his hands. I'm still thinking Lieberman might pop up as a VP pick before too long -- McCain is going to need another game changer. So I say, the longer the better -- it will make for better theater in the end. And that's all it will be -- theater.

Seriously, why should either McCain or Palin give a press conference? Some people may want one, but most people wont know the difference between open questioning versus canned comments made in a prepared speech. It just another aspect of the big lie.

She can cook a mooseburger. What more could a voter want?
