"His World View?"

Sarah Palin, future Commander in Chief, doesn't seem to know what the Bush Doctrine is:
Gibson: "Do you agree with the Bush Doctrine?"

Palin: "In what respect, Charlie?"

Gibson: (confused) "What do you interpret it to be?"

Palin: "His world view?"
Unreal.

But the talking head morons in the media are all saying she "did great", and right-wingers don't seem to give a damn about anything other than "Sarah's helping us win! We might win!"

How appalling to realize that a former POW has effectively betrayed his country by choosing a running mate he KNEW was not prepared to be president, solely out of a hunger for power. I watch this woman, and she sounds like a teenager who just crammed for a History final, and I get sick thinking that she could soon be in a position to launch a war.

The people who don't care about this, and only care about "winning" are the scourge of this nation.

It was a loaded question, because the Bush Doctrine can have many different meanings, one of which Gibson mentions -- the right of the US to make a preemptive strike.

The original definition of the Bush Doctrine was after 9/11, when Bush declared that the United States had the right to treat countries that harbor terrorist groups as terrorist states themselves.

The commonly accepted statement of the Bush Doctrine, summed up in the National Security Strategy, includes 8 different strategies on foreign policy.

Show us how smart your are: Name all 8 strategies without looking them up. You can't.

Gibson assumed that Palin knew his definition of the Bush Doctrine. He even used the words "as I understand it." Gibson's view was just one of many, and Palin was right to ask "in what respect?"

But keep on attacking Palin. You keep playing right into McCain's hands.

First of all, don't bother with the "playing right into McCain's hands" nonsense. I have no illusions that what I do here is going to make or break the election.

That said, it was very obvious from watching her response that she was not trying to differentiate among the nuances of what the Bush Doctrine could mean -- she not only didn't know what it was, she hadn't even heard of the term. She replied as someone would when asked "Do you agree with the Bush doctrine?" (small D).
